SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts, a non-profit organization working to incubate new performing artists through residencies, workshops, and performance opportunities, is proud to announce its Seventh Annual Summer Performance Festival, SPF7, featuring 12 emerging dance artists. SPF7 runs from Wednesday, July 16 to Sunday, July 20, 2014 at ODC Theater, San Francisco, with a special preview performance Saturday, July 12.

The 2014 dance artists individually selected for SPF7 by SAFEhouse founder Joe Landini include: The Anata Project, Marika Brussel, CALI & CO dance / Christine Cali, Sandrine Cassini, Alma Esperanza Cunningham, Jaara Dance Project, Kinetech Arts, Joe Landini, Angela Mazziotta, Palanza Dance, Unum Dance, Ronja Ver, and Miriam Wolodarski.  SPF7 features choreographers that have participated in RAW (resident artist workshop) at The Garage, part of SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts.

“This year’s selection process for RAW was incredibly competitive,” says Joe Landini, founder of SAFEhouse for the Performing Arts. “We hosted about 80 groups in RAW this year and had only 12 spots for SPF7. We are thrilled to present the work of so many creative and talented emerging artists in the San Francisco Bay Area. Our summer festival continues an important tradition in the local dance community.”
